Our style can be described as modern yet inviting, sophisticated yet cozy. We embrace clean lines and a contemporary aesthetic while ensuring that every space feels warm, welcoming, and personal. We also like to think outside the box, encouraging clients to reach beyond the traditional or standard to add a touch of edge and uniqueness to their space—think painting the walls a bold color (our signature move!), installing a mural, or selecting a statement piece of furniture to anchor the space.
When working on a project, we always consider the vibe of the neighborhood. Many of our clients are local to Jersey City, Hoboken, and New York City - areas filled with character and history. There’s a great sense of community, and we like to embody that in our design and the relationships we build with our clients.
Meet Carissa
Carissa didn’t originally picture becoming an interior designer. Growing up, she dreamt of pursuing architecture, but soon realized she wasn’t passionate about the conceptual nature of the field—it was interiors she loved.
Carissa honed her skills working for commercial architecture firms in Manhattan, where she focused on space planning and material selection for office and amenity spaces. Over her 15-year career, she’s leveraged her strength for visualizing spaces in three dimensions and her talent for creating cohesive, beautiful palettes to elevate both commercial and residential interiors for her clients. Known for her exceptional color perception, Carissa can match hues and layer materials in ways that bring a unique warmth to every project.
In 2020, Carissa launched her own firm, CBH Interiors, combining her experience with a laid-back, approachable style. Clients appreciate her commitment to organization and the care she takes with every project, but they also connect with her down-to-earth personality. (Don’t be surprised if she rides her bike to a meeting, styled in jeans and sneakers!)
Carissa has been featured in Martha Stewart (read it here!). When she’s not working, Carissa enjoys exploring the parks and community gardens, visiting cafes, and shopping small businesses in Jersey City with her husband and daughter.
